Alexander Ridha is a Berlin DJ and producer better known as Boys Noize, and also founder of Boysnoize Records and its sub-label BNR Trax. Playing at top international festivals and venues, his sets are as uplifting as they are unforgettable. He’s been anointed one of the “Top 10 DJ’s Who Rule The World” by Rolling Stone, elected “Best Electronic Act” by Beatport 3 years in a row, and lauded by virtually every dance authority. Boys Noize created a sound that is peerless, uncompromising, and enduring – respected in the scene, banging from underground to mainstream, his work flies in the face of convention at every turn. His BNR label features an amazing roster of incredible talent with over 150 releases to date. Kris Baha delivers extended sets of obscure, otherworldly machine music driven by emotion and mood, be it energy, joy, lust or sadness. The same rules apply to his hardware-driven, performance-based live shows, which were initially inspired by his love for the pioneering gigs of the first industrial era. Yet it is his own skewed, mutant dancefloor productions for which Baha is undoubtedly best known. Inhibiting their own sound space between industrial, EBM, minimal wave, early ‘90s IDM and krautrock, Baha’s releases have so far featured on such record labels Bahnsteig 23, Pinkman, CockTail D’Amore Music, She Lost Kontrol and Power Station, the imprint he initiated back in 2015. Another label artist is Housemeister, who just released his “Stand Up!” EP on the Boysnoize imprint. A legend in Berlin’s techno scene, Housemeister is a key figure of the German and international nightscape since his auspicious debut in 1994. By 2001 he had already released tracks on Ellen Aliens’s Bpitch Control label, since 2005 he is label head of AYCB Records with 50 releases as of 2017, part of Boysnoize Records, and also releasing some tracks for Modeselektor´s Monkeytown and 50 Weapons. As a full-analog studio crack Housemeister has produced 6 full length studio Albums and more than 50 vinyl Ep´s, around 350 tracks in total. He never cares about style or trends, he always does what he wants. One of his albums was just made with the program Nanoloops on a Gameboy, which was Album of the Month in Mixmag Magazine London. Constantly experimenting, creating and thrilling crowds around the world and in his home town of Berlin, the German capital’s club scene was built with the help of this prolific artist known as Housemeister. Once the Melbourne club scene patriarch behind the EBM-Industrial/ dark mecca weekly club night Power Station, Kris Baha now resides in Berlin crafting the output of the label and telling tales from the lost party along. He has become known for a trademark DJ and production style inspired by sun-baked hallucinatory visions and the clandestine, concrete-clad industrial hum of the metropolis after dark.
