Beschreibung zur Veranstaltung:
Mike Parker lives and works in Buffalo, New York. When he is not twisting analogue frequencies in the studio he lectures fine art at Daemen College. Mr. Parker joined the Tresor Records family with the release of hi 4-track EP “Disintegrating Sand” in December 2016. His abstractions of sound and texture are now instantly recognizable to contemporary audiences, as expressed on his long running series of 12” records on the Geophone and other top labels, that has established his sonic persona. In recent years, several tours across Europe and Japan have enabled Mike Parker to spread his sound further, DJing on the sound systems which best deliver the depth and power of his music. We also welcome back Giuseppe Tillieci aka Neel, an Italian DJ, producer and composer has been long known as part of Voices From The Lake together with Donato Dozzy, and as a solo artist he takes techno to deep, atmospheric regions, keenly assembled tracks for a style expressed well on his solo album of 2012 “Phobos” on the Spectrum Spools label. Neel performs both mesmerizing live shows as well as a wonderfully atmospheric DJ set, marrying abstract visuals with atmospheric sonics, leaving audiences left adrift in wide open spaces of sound that work the head as much as the heel. In a country where the ravy end of the techno spectrum often prevails, Ben Buitendijk’s deeper, meditative sound has earned him a trusted following. Based in Rotterdam, Ben has started his musical path with a string of releases on labels like Mosaic, ESHU and his own Oblique Music imprint. With no boundaries to genres or styles, Ben’s sets and productions are defined by rich textures and spacey atmosphere, taking the listener on a journey where music for the dance floor and music for the mind perfectly balance. Refracted has released some of his dub-techno on labels such as Connwax and Silent Season. Deep rhythms and atmospheric elements have always played a major role in Refracted‘s music. It is techno more as an idea and conduit, than as an easily-labeled sound. It is dance music where layered rhythms act almost on a neural, sub epidermal level, while moving and evolving soundscapes acquire a tactile, understated physicality. Paramount examples of this can be found on releases on Refracted‘s own Mind Express label and other top labels like Silent Season and Pole Group. Spiritual, almost meditative, his sets possess a kinetic energy as well, which is a clear indication of a DJ who knows the fundamental role of dancing as part of the ritual. On the Globus Floor: Levon Vincent is an American DJ, producer and owner of Novel Sound, and another label that he co-runs with fellow NY house renaissance man Anthony Parasole called Deconstruct. Originally from the midwest, Levon is now a world traveling DJ, feeling at home in New York, London or Berlin. Returning artist Luke Hess remains a shining star out of Detroit. He has celebrated EPs out on Omar S’ FXHE, Carl Craig’s Planet-e, Echocord and many more. His Detroit label DeepLabs has been the center for his own deeply personal projects. With over 15 years of DJ experience and many notable live sets across the world, Luke is regarded as a perfectionist on stage. Hess is known to layer his sets in a very detailed, hypnotic, & soulful manner. Eric Maltz is an upcoming producer from New York City and now based in Berlin, who recently performed at last summer’s Atonal Festival. His sound purposely avoids easy pigeonholing, operating within the confines of house and dubbed-out techno with a sound that suggests everything but. Shades of ambient, new wave and rock reveal Maltz to be an accomplished instrumentalist, with an ear for the eclectic that reveals his past working in Halcyon Records.
