Beschreibung zur Veranstaltung:
Benjamin Damage’s roots lie firmly within the UK’s underground. Drawing from early rave to jungle to nineties house, Benjamin’s non-purist approach to techno produces an energy and emotion rarely found in modern electronic music. Working together with Doc Daneeka in Berlin, the duo fused UK bass, techno, lush ambience and haunting vocals to create the critically acclaimed album ’They!Live” on Modeselektor’s 50 Weapons label. Through 50 Weapons, Damage releases teamed brutal indulgence with moments of atmospheric tension and tenderness, culminating in the release of his stunning debut solo album ‘Heliosphere’ in 2013. Benjamin Damage’s second solo album “Obsidian” was released to great reviews and was the last artist album to close 50 Weapons. Benjamin then signed to R&S records in 2017, releasing the “Montreal” EP. Stephan Schindler is Lockertmatik, a DJ and producer from Germany who runs his own Lockertmatik label (as Kryptic Universe) together with Anaxy. Having worked at Hard Wax Dresden, he has also released on other labels such as Phonocake, Psycho Thrill, Sleepy City, Shtum, Melted Recordings and Wolfskuil. Early inspiration came via Electronic Body Music, Acid House, early 1990s Detroit Techno and the famous east german broadcast DT64, and today Lockertmatik has carved out his unique position in the genre. Through Drum and Bass, Fadi Mohem became inspired by electronic music from a young age. Since then, he has built up an extensive stylistic portfolio that has no genre boundaries. With his 2017 Reckless EP, however, a first cut can only be tested out on the dance floor. Both pieces are extremely aggressive and captivate with drifting synths and styled drums. Test Fadi Mohem for yourself tonight! Our fearless techno resident Mareena reinforces the night with a solid set. In Globus: With a career spanning already two decades, frequent guest Joel Mull is a techno DJ and producer from Sweden who has released on labels such as Drumcode, Truesoul, Audiomatique, Saved, Cocoon, Kanzleramt and Music Man, and is a master of making music with an ability to balance sounds from across the spectrum with heavy-duty rhythms, chords, and melody. Joel Mull is a dynamic and interactive DJ who blends rolling basslines, harmonic synths, and energetic percussion to craft an infectious and atmospheric sound. As a producer, Joel Mull is constantly active and has released over 100 releases and under various names such as Icarus and recently Gotzkowsky on the label Dystopian, and since 2015 he is involved in the label Parabel, focusing on releasing music from the artists in the agency with the same name. Nihad Tule is a DJ and producer born in Mostar, Bosnia-Hercegovina, now based in Stockholm, Sweden. Founder of techno label Sloboda, Nihad also releases/released on labels souch as Random Island and Drumcode LTD, and is one half of the live act and production duo NTTA11. His music is often stripped down to the very basics, seemingly simplistic at first, later revealing layers of complexity that truly witness his dedication to the craft. Behind the decks, Nihad Tule’s multifaceted selection combined with his unique ability to build suspense has led him to become a returning figure at some of the world’s finest techno clubs. Returning artist and Berlin-based Susan Langan aka Qzen from San Francisco started DJing drum & bass a decade ago and opened up over the years to play house and an assortment of electronic music on her now defunct radio show, Moxie Musik. Her passionate music geekery landed her a five-year stint as the dance and electronic music programmer for iTunes, but before she influenced the digital music market, Qzen was making her voice heard by collaborating with John Tejada, which produced hit tracks like “Sweat (On The Walls)” and “Sucre.”
