Beschreibung zur Veranstaltung:
An irrepressible figure on the post-punk new wave scene that has broken the monopoly of delicate electro in recent years, Parrish Smith delights in messing with the senses and breaking the rules. His resolutely 90s-inflected sound features saturated, mechanical textures and grinding vocoder vocals, in addition to rave synths that hint at a more disconcerting and industrial acid sound. One half of Volition Immanent, and signed to L.I.E.S., Knekelhuis and later to Nina Kraviz’s label ТРИП, Parrish Smith makes the soundsystem come alive in an entirely new dancefloor experience: dark, cavernous, frenetic. Mindblowing. Galaxian: genre bending thunderous bass flavoured electro, cinematic ambient soundtracks and hallucinatory electronics Galaxian comfortably occupies a space outside of the easily definable genres of today. A sound as equally varied as it is evocative, often hard to classify and pigeon hole but never less than absorbing. He’s never an artist to become stagnant or be confined within obvious conventions. Releases on labels including Lower Parts, Foul-Up, LKT, Shipwrec with DJ Stingray are distinctive and remarkably vital and have further cemented Galaxian’s reputation for an unorthodox, idiosyncratic methodology. Niels Luinenburg aka Delta Funktionen‘s tracks on Field 02 and 04 are delicious techno works of intricate, moody forces. Also a resident at Amsterdam’s LET – les enfants terribles – Delta Funktionen is content to go about his business quietly, and the Dutchman now spins a genre-defiant blend of Detroit techno, Chicago-licked house, crafty old school electro and sparkling Italo disco at clubs around the globe. It’s always a pleasure to welcome Delta Funktionen to our home. From the UK, Christopher Jarman is Kamikaze Space Programme, a true sonic renegade, a genuine musical experimenter. Somewhere between a classic Musique Concrète and modern electronic approach, KSP’s music is made up of myriad samples and found sounds from real world situations. It’s a project with its own sonic identity that has been snapped up by the press and public alike, with many festival appearances taking him across the globe and much music being released on various respected labels. On the Globus Floor: John Scheffer is Intergalactic Gary who started mixing around 1980 after being influenced by the (Italo)disco scene in The Hague. His professional DJ career started in 1990 with squat and club parties in The Hague. Then came an installment in LA D.S. club in The Hague in 1992 until 1996 to DJ weekly House, Garage & Disco on Sunday nights. Intergalactic Gary started The Parallax Corporation together with I-F in 1998 and produced the clubhit ‘Lift Off (Viewlexx V12/5) followed up by the Cocadisco series (Viewlexx V12/10, V12/11, V12/12 & V12/16). The Cocadisco Album (2-LP/CD) later appeared on Disko B. Daniel Segerstad aka Sync24 is from Carbon Based Lifeforms. Started in early years experimenting with tape recorders and simple music players on the Commodore 64 and gradually upgrading equipment and techniques. Having CBL as Sync24’s main focus and some other projects on the side there’s always room for personal reflections. Yoan Rodriguez Lokier is a DJ and producer from Mexico City. Having moved to Barcelona, and secured her current release on the much loved Days Of Being Wild imprint, featuring fellow DJ and friend Morgan Hammer, Lokier is riding high. When she’s not delivering mixes for us lot, she’s been keeping busy with upcoming EPs on Have A Killer Time and Nein. With a selection of remixes, mixes and compilations on their way, we’d say you’ll be hearing a lot more of Lokier.
