Longtime advocates of sonic terrorism even before banding together as The Advent in 1993, Cisco Ferreira and Colin McBean’s assault on conventional techno flourished in part because of abundant glimpses into related styles, from electro and hip-hop to techno. In the late 80s he had several tech sessions Jack Trax Records, working with artists from the label – Derrick May, Fingers Inc, Adonis, Marshall Jefferson, Jazzy M… After a couple 80s solo releases and later as The Advent and as Cisco Ferreira, he released many classic albums of the genre combining the best elements of Techno,House & Electro Music. A decades-long family member of Tresor Club & Records, we welcome him back on the Globus decks tonight for a special electro set! A resident at Amsterdam’s LET – les enfants terribles – Delta Funktionen is content to go about his business quietly, and the Dutchman now spins a genre-defiant blend of Detroit techno, Chicago-licked house, crafty old school electro and sparkling Italo disco at clubs around the globe. It’s always a pleasure to welcome The Advent back and tonight’s Globus set promises to be gigantic. SV3N, originally from Offenbach am Main, became an influential figure in the early underground Techno and Electro scene of the Rhein-Main area, in Germany. His career as a professional Dj spanned 25years and since the mid 90’s he made himself a name for his diverse styles of Detroit Techno, Electro and IDM. After supporting Autechre on their EU Tour in 1998 he relocated to Manchester UK where he connected with Skam Records and was successfully managing the Art bookshop Magma in the Northern Quarter and co-promoted the legendary ilektro club-nights at the Park Nightclub. Now based in Berlin, SV3N has been working with the Littlebig Music Agency, became involved in running the sonic arts gallery space MODULAR+ and continues his mission to push new Electro music as a DJ with his eclectic closing sets. Downstairs in Tresor: Since 2009, Vincent Koreman a.k.a. Drvg Cvltvre has been working on his own blend of dystopian acid, no wave and experimental house. Koreman is a highly productive producer, offering many of his new tracks for free download on his soundcloud page before they get released by labels. Respected in the international underground for his groundbreaking work in experimental techno as RA-X in the 90′s on labels like Bunker and KK Records, Drvg Cvltvre comes from a DIY punk background, opting for hard work rather than hollow pose. A blend of dark techno and deep house with lots of experiment, influenced in equal parts by Suicide, Sun Ra and Terrence Dixon, we are very excited about his set tonight. Founder of Rave or Die and of the New Flesh Records imprint, Umwelt boasts over forty releases to date, which place him among the most prolific French electronic producers. In 2016, after a long spell off the radar, this expert in ferocious distortions tinted with sweet melancholy delivered his second album, entitled Days of Dissent and released on Boidae. The opus was highly acclaimed by the public and the press, which proclaimed it an electro referent. The Lyon-based artist, a vinyl and analogue freak, Umwelt continues the work of early pioneers with a wild and straight-to-the-dancefloor mode of transport, while progressively leading the listener into dark, melancholic, dancing and mental atmospheres where he alone has total control over the side effects. As one of the hinges of the 90’s rave generation, Italian DJ and Sonic Groove artist Max Durante’s sound and his presence have been fundamental for the early Italian Techno scene. Well respected as a DJ, thanks to his great mixing abilities, as well as a producer for his precious creativity in his recording productions, Max Durante is a true innovator of dark, industrial techno. Our very talented resident DJ Reka serves up a skilled support set.
