Samuel Thalmann is Okain, whose first release came in 2007, and launched the career of an exciting new voice in electronic music. Over the years, he has evolved into an accomplished artist with sets in some of the finest venues in the world. He has also participated in a lot of projects such as Handycraft, the alias he used to have in collaboration with Paul Ritch many years ago, and after relocating to Berlin in 2011, Okain has established his own musical imprint Talman Records, where he can freely release the music he loves. Born Canadian of Italian descent, Paolo Rocco first made his mark as a DJ in the Montreal House/Electronic music scene. Being a general music lover Paolo was known for his story telling sets and being a “DJ’s DJ”. Paolo Rocco entered the international electronic scene as a producer with his original works and remixes seeing respect from numerous industry heavyweights. His first ever digital single “Move Body, Move Forward” (Klasse Recordings) cracked Beatport’s top 25 main chart while holding number 6 in the top 100 Deep House category. Since his debut as a producer his records like “That I Am” (Real Tone Records) have made a staple showcasing his unique and solitary sound. After two decades of DJing, running labels, and producing hundreds of releases, Silverlining is not fledgling. His eclectic, party-savvy sets have been tickling feet & minds alike since the mid-90s, in over 40 countries, in hundreds of venues over from warehouses to main stages at festivals, often with repeat bookings that are too numerous to count. Straddling the lines between the contemporary and the old school, his addictive journey sets encapsulate a broad spectrum of moods that can be communicated within the 4/4 and electro format. Although he continues to create unique blend of house, techno, electro, he insists that it is not ‘Tech House’. Beyond the Silverlining name, his other work spans numerous other genres and influences, with his breadth of taste adjoined by a common groove that can be found in his extensive record collection. The Silverlining sound is unmistakable yet uncontainable, and it just needs to be heard.
