Beschreibung zur Veranstaltung:
We welcome the return of the American-Dutch producer and graphic designer Sheela Rahman aka Xosar with her mystical and exotic broken house-psychedelia that she impressed us with last February. Having played in practically all of the most well-known venues on the globe, we recommend taking in her brilliant live set tonight. Along with Regis and James Ruskin, Silent Servant founded the short-lived Jealous God label, a flag-bearer for the contemporary electronic avant-garde and a loyal ally to all mutant experimentalists. Deeply pensive and forward thinking, his sound is marked by a distinct blend of the disparate and divergent. An appreciation of warehouse techno, industrial noise and post-punk are evident, yet challenged and reworked to form a uniquely modern style – a vitality so controlled and concentrated that it captivates immediately. His live sets are another matter of inventiveness. The superfluous eliminated, Silent Servant has, for years, been rewiring the minds and moving the bodies of those seeking the most meaningful and potent energies that electronic music has to offer. Anastasia Kristensen is an uncompromising force of nature that shifts sounds and tempos at a moment’s notice – providing a whirlwind of emboldened intensity that can be felt equally through her productions and DJ sets. Kristensen starts with tone as the foundation; she weaves a web that incorporates barreling breaks, blistering techno and buoyant electro in scintillating fashion – inviting listeners to be curious about which strand she’ll weave with each passing track she plays. While insincerity remains the safety of many, American artist John Juan Mendez aka Silent Servant’s own productions are brutally honest and resolute, rendering irrelevant those mongering for light. Blurring the lines between Techno with percussive grooves, raw acid basslines all the way up to dry scratchy House, returning artist Hyperaktivist is the founder of the MESS – Mindful Electronic Sonic Selections – events in Berlin. In the +4Bar: Darko Esser aka Tripeo settles on the crossing borders between house & techno, don’t be surprised if he takes a sideway into broken beat, dubstep, electronics or the indescribable. With a discography of over 30 releases, including international clubhits like ‘Paradox’ (Underwater), ‘Catatonic’ (Ovum) and ‘The Return’ on his own Wolfskuil imprint, Tripeo has established a solid reputation in the producer department ever since his first records came out in 2003. And VCR joins on the decks, a regular @ the Same Bitches events that nightcrawl in the very underground Ohm space, found in the Tresor Club complex.
