London-based Steve Bicknell is a welcome, regular returning guest in Tresor Club. Steve has delivered some of the most powerful and riveting techno sets over the years in the Tresor vault. He was resident DJ at the famous Energy raves, participating in many of the defining events in UK club culture’s history. Steve and Sheree Rashit (who together formed the renowned Cosmic Records, (featuring a roster of international visionaries) run the now legendary LOST events which influenced a whole generation of British electronic musicians. We welcome Steve back tonight for an excellent signature set. Mario Castillo is Kastil from Spain, a producer and DJ currently running Soul Notes and Soul Notes White record labels. Whether composing, remixing or producing, he strives for quality in his work, and a solid, cohesive set at his club gigs. His last qualitative set in Tresor was just under a year ago and we also welcome back this talented DJ. Pacou, one of our club and label’s most distinguished artists, returns with one of his burning DJ sets tonight. A Berlin techno innovator from the dawn of the movement in Berlin, Pacou’s impressive releases on his own Cache label and on Tresor Records have been found in techno DJ record cases the world over for decades. We are proud to have this homegrown, internationally respected talent as a longtime member of our family. Marcel Heese’s take on Techno is a blend of relentlessness and subtlety, using sound design and precise aesthetics, he walks that leftfield path that opens techno out beyond its confines. Part of the Tresor.Berlin resident team since 2008, Marcel is a DJ who disregards expectations for floor-fillers. His pursuits in the scene have moved further with the beginning of his label Finitude Music in 2014. In Globus: 2017 marked the 25th year at the very top of Netherlands artist Gerd’s game, and also brought with it a new label Frame of Mind. He might have been around for years, then, but his vast passion, knowledge and experience still very much separates him from the crowd and makes him as relevant and vital as ever. With more solo works also in the pipeline, long time and hugely consistent talent Gerd is rightfully acknowledged for his club-owning dexterity on the decks as he is loved for his skills in the studio. Iron Curtis’ pieces originate in a place simultaneously tuned to the sounds of Detroit, Chicago and Hamburg. One half of the well acclaimed Achterbahn D’Amour outfit, he intertwines Deep-House with soulful Techno in a disturbingly enchanting manner, his sound moves in the equilibrium of reduced, but never minimal. Flashes of kitsch brighten the dark universe of Iron Curtis, but fail to interfere with the melancholy subtext. We welcome back frequent guest Steve Challier, who started working together with his associate in 2009, to form a now popular partnership in the local club scene called ‘Border & Challier’, which resulted in several productions and musical highlights during many club nights. Steve Challier has been on his own path as a DJ for some time now and is quite certain that we will get to hear a lot more from him in the near future, for his only goal is to make even more music.
