Beschreibung zur Veranstaltung:
Blush Response is Joey Blush, a Berlin-based, Cuban-American artist and sound designer. A fascinating, vibrant new artist, he frequents the outer realms of post punk, industrial, techno, you-name-it and has a plethora of releases on cd, vinyl, digital and even cassette tape format to date on labels like Sonic Groove, Aufnahme + Wiedergabe, Ant-zen, and Total Black. Blush Response’s music is characterized by a modular synth heavy approach to sound design, combining rough, glitch-heavy beats with thick, distorted synths to create a sound that blurs the lines between electronic genres. Ancient Methods was originally an industrial/techno duo of Conrad Protzmann & Michael Wollenhaupt aka Baeks & Trias: now it’s been Trias’ one man project since Baeks’ departure. Both originally integral DJs in the former legendary Tresor Headquarters team, today Ancient Methods takes this genre and drives you into its vortex right on the dancefloor. Falling Ethics is an electronic music label managed by P.E.A.R.L. His sets are characterized by broken rhythms and deep sounds, showing industrial influences. A former member of the group “Agony Forces”, that performed at the most important clubs and festivals in Spain, P.E.A.R.L.‘s restless and innovative nature often leads him to look for the sounds far beyond the dance club, bringing him closer to the other fields of electronic and experimental music. Marc Ash debuted on our new faces night last year, he is co-founder of Crimewave (former bi-monthly party) which since 2012 has brought a selection of minimal-synth and avantgarde electronic performers for the first time in Milan. Drawing largely his aesthetic and artistic inspiration from early new wave and dirty industrial as well as from electronic pioneers, Marc Ash is active both as DJ and producer, with his self named project (obscure electronics, after a synthwave beginning) and his moniker Plovdiv, more techno-dark beats driven. He’s currently working on his own label “Blacksilk Records”, which aims to bring out the best of hidden experimental and obscure electronic projects. In Globus: Joshua Eustis & Turk Dietrich are Second Woman: the project, a rhythmically fractured, high-tempo take on techno with elements of dub and footwork, debuted in 2016 with a self-titled album, which was followed by another LP last year. Their Tresor Records EP, titled “Apart / Instant”, was released last March 23rd, and we are very much looking forward to their set tonight in Globus. Moritz von Oswald is a producer, multi-instrumentalist, mastering and cutting engineer at Dubplates & Mastering, (1995 – 2008), who has been at the cutting edge of German and international electronic music since it’s humble beginnings. One of dub techno’s best known producers, he was one half of the legendary projects Basic Channel and Maurizio. Basic Channel and Maurizio records are characterized by a 4×4 beats with dub-inflected syncopated synth pads slowly modulated over time, and his work with Mark Ernestus as Rhythm & Sound fused his interests in dub reggae and techno, where Jamaican vocalists sing or speak over stripped down techno beats and bass. In 2013 Moritz von Oswald joined with another Tresor legend Juan Atkins for their collaborative release “Borderland”. For the last 12 years, Berlin-born Janina developed an impressive sharp ear, technical skills, an asserted signature, despite continuously evolving music tastes. Playing regularly in the best clubs in Berlin and in European capitals, Janina is now playing twice a month as a resident of Monasterio Club in Moscow. Stojche Cvetanovski aka Stojche has been a resident DJ in Tresor Club for some years now, providing his distinct style of turntablism that fits like a glove in the basement, a perfect support set for this excellent Tresor Floor line-up.
