Beschreibung zur Veranstaltung:
Ashique Subhan aka Subb-an last commanded the Globus decks in 2016, a dynamic DJ/producer from the UK with a firm understanding of what it takes to move a dancefloor. Subb-an’s music has more than a little mystery about it. Treading the line between house, techno and minimal, it’s a signature swagger and technical polish that defines Subb-an’s DJ sets. His productions are deep, raw, soul heavy and although always achingly relevant, glance backwards through a long lineage of house masters. As a DJ, his sets pass between house and deep techno, balancing swing, groove and potent bottom end notes. With a long growing list of releases under their belt, in 2009 Subb-an and Adam Shelton set up their own One Recordings label as a platform for their own productions alongside tracks from other respected artists. Throughout his twenty-year venture as one of the most coveted underground DJs/producers to emerge from Tel Aviv’s electronic scene, Gel Abril (Roy Brizman) has crossed paths with nearly every significant industry figure. Whether he’s manning the decks with an impressive arsenal of cutting-edge selections or engulfed in the latest studio project, his endeavors are well-acknowledged all-across the globe. In 2007 Abril became a key contributor to Shlomi Aber’s Be As One imprint, tying musical bonds with his native country’s top-grade record company. Without a hint of slowing down, he shelved out no less than four singles for the premiere label. In a competitive market of global DJs, Abril’s distinctive blend of tech house and metallic-groove consistently enchants the hearts of listeners, transcending the boundaries of formal genres. Always acknowledged for his unparalleled diversity behind the mixer, his sets are both bold and inventive. Described by music journalists as a “unique specie of an artist”, so far, this determination could not be more accurate for the endearing record selector. And we welcome back the slick and sophisticated house sounds of Frankfurt’s Robert Drewek, founder of Rawax: providing delicious sets of groovy house with techno impressions, Robert founded his own record distribution DBH Music in 2007 with Alex Bau and Jörg Henze. The tight cooperation between Rawax and House Of Waxx has delivered many a talent-driven house Monday night in Tresor Club. Today DBH is one of the most important record distributions for electronic music and the home of Drewek’s Rawax which had an amazing impact in the scene from day one.
