Beschreibung zur Veranstaltung:
Cabinet night upstairs in Globus: Cab Drivers is the duo project of Berlin artists Daniel Paul & Jens Augustowsky aka Sky. In 1994 they founded Cabinet Records and with that they became among the first to forge a new aesthetic in house music, made of chasing, advanced 909 programming, clean, minimalist sound design and subtle lines of funk and latin melodies. Cab Drivers’ very infectious and engaging sound has been reflected on innumerous Cabinet releases and on other respected labels. Cabinet artist Hans Schaaf aka DJ Honesty joins the lineup tonight: a DJ and producer since early nineties, Honesty‘s first release was on the legendary Space Teddy label, followed by releases on Cabinet Records and a collaboration with Daniel Paul. Watching and listening to Honesty mixing vinyls and grooving a dancefloor is a flashing experience indeed. This man handles the turntables like very few out there, always with a highly inspired and eclectic attitude, backed up by an outstanding 360-degrees music knowledge. Berlin deep house DJ Nick Beringer returns to the Globus decks after quite a few years absence, the rising star DJ last year contributed a track on Amsterdam’s SlapFunk Records five year celebration triple-vinyl compilation called Raw Joints 5. After a more experimental period, Ed Herbst fell in love with house music, centering around New Jersey house and dub-infused garage but always feeding his DJ sets with a big range of different styles from NY house to deep Italo house and techno and dubtech. Despite his wide variety of musical influences, Ed always handles the turntables with a very classic approach, delivering a sound that is deep and dubby but very bumpy at the same time. On the Tresor Floor: there is not a major electronic club, event or festival in the world that has not hosted the renowned Swedish artist Cari Lekebusch. A frequent guest in our home, Cari is a key ambassador in exporting the techno beats that proliferated from his homeland, a term which was then aptly coined by many as ‘Swedish Techno’. The impressive repertoire on his own H-Productions label has become a mainstay of the genre, permeating into the crates of the global electronic music community. Two of our best techno residents Dinamite and T.A.G. provide more than excellent support to make your basement experience a memorable one.
