Beschreibung zur Veranstaltung:
If you live in Beirut, you probably know Jade as the DJ from The Basement, or one of the most respected DJs in town, or the dude from Blend, the first signed Rock Band in the region (EMI), or that guy at the music store downtown who always recommended great music. Jade plays vinyl in a country where no 12ÕÕ is being sold...Õ (Excerpts from TRAX + REMIX, 2005)

A rocker since high school, Jade moved to Montreal in 1999 where he experienced his first techno parties and found himself dragged into the world of electronic sounds. In 2002, he returned home to record his first album with his band Blend (EMI Ð www.blendband.net).

A year later, Jade got into DJÔing, and started organizing underground parties (ÔSpoon EventsÕ) attended by increasingly larger numbers of people. He also started distributing his mixes on CD, a habit that he keeps till now in his club, The Basement.

Active since June 2005, The Basement gained a tremendous reputation for its particular style and its wild atmosphere. For the first time in Beirut, the European Zeitgeist Electro / Minimal & Tech-House sound was offered to a wider audience: Jennifer Cardini, Abe Duque, Chloe, M.A.N.D.Y, DÕJulz and many others played there.

Supported by both the French Cultural Center and the Goethe Institute, The Basement also hosted workshops with international artists regularly, in order to encourage local talent; the club is also a home for emerging local bands and artists. In addition to this, charity events are organized by Jade regularly, and have given The Basement a different image and established it as a club with a humane touch and a cultural vision.

When the war broke out in Lebanon in 2006, Jade went on undeterred, organizing fundraisers in town (www.minimalresistance.org) and around the world (www.tobeirut.org) in coordination with The Lebanese Red Cross and with the help and support of P-Toile (Clique Bookings, Berlin); famous DJs and live acts such as DJ Hell, Craig Richards, M.A.N.D.Y., Stewart Walker, Kiki, Fafa Monteco, Jennifer Cardini, Chloe, Yvan Smagghe, Ewan Pearson and others offered their kind participationÉ.

Jade started his weekly radio show ÔSounds from the BasementÕ early in 2006 on local radio station Mix FM, and moved the show to NRJ in 2008 (Every Saturday, 11pm). He played in several clubs all around the world: Rex in Paris Ð Sage Club, Watergate & Rechenzentrum in Berlin Ð Culture Box in Copenhagen Ð Propaganda in Moscow - Privat Party in Milan Ð Tsunami in Sardinia - The Key in London Ð Prana in Jordan Ð Palermo Luna & Sol Festival Ð Apartment & Submarine in Dubai - Liquid, Level & Coral Beach Bahrain (where he has an ongoing monthly residency).
